Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel has partnered Smart Track, a member of Green Lanka Group of companies, to offer comprehensive fleet management and asset tracking solutions to local SME and enterprises. The Fleet Management Solution consists of a GPS (Global Positioning System) tracking unit fixed onto the vehicle and a web interface for the fleet administrator to monitor the fleet online.
The tracking unit continuously fetches location information using GPS Technology and securely sends to the tracking server located at Smart Track engineering office via Mobitel network. The data stored at the tracking server are made available through the visual monitoring interface to the fleet administrators to monitor and track fleet on a digital map, live or browse historic data with many other comprehensive statistics such as vehicle mileage, average speed, fuel consumption etc., coupled with many more controlling and alarming options such as Geo-Fencing to effectively manage the fleet. Such tracking solutions are enhanced with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology to provide asset tracking and management solutions which are vital especially for business involving heavy inventory control and distribution such as logistics and Cargo, FMCG and the likes.
